A Parent's Vow

I knew of you before we met,
a slight vision in my head.

I heard of your heart
in the music we had.

My body moved up
and down with your breath.

Together tied by birth
we became three.

I should have seen the signs.
I should have backed down.

You should have watched the road.
You should have carried a crown.

I didn't want thorns around my head
you were to bring wreaths of flowers instead.

Bitterness replaced by fruits and endeavors
You and I said, “Whatever.”

When I was weak and a worm
you stood strong and firm.

When I imagined all was at an end.
We looked at her and stayed to pretend.

Parenting is live and learn.
Marriage is breathing in turn.

They said it wouldn’t last.
They didn’t see us when we laughed.

Many years of love and hate
released by our children’s fate.

A testament of strength.
Foolishly, we sat on the fence.

To the Good Doctor

I can give you a name
because you offered it freely.

My small and contrite voice
only offered mine meekly.

Your demeanor was small
so at last we were equals.

You quietly asked what
happened to such people.

You invited me out
on a nice sunny day.

Just to breathe in the air
and feel the warm basking rays.

You strolled while
I trotted on uneven feet.

My mind often wandered
as I thought of defeat.

“I will not abandon”
was your unspoken statement.

I looked forward and saw
past my dark unlit basement.

I can remember a story
about a man walking
alone on the beach.

Deep in his sorrow,
he asked God just to speak.

God told him,
he wasn’t alone.

Forget not it was He
who was carrying him home.

Footprints in the sand
may only be prose.

Thankfully, you stood
to the challenge you chose.

Charlie Brown

The long forgotten Charlie Brown,
he’s in the race for his life.
Quite wishy washy at times,
his fight is still quite a delight.

As he trips and falls,
stumbles to get up,
he can’t hear the crowd
as they yell to hurry up.

With his shoes untied,
he's so disadvantaged,
cursing and panting
about such silly antics.

Is he first or last or in-between?
Does he have a reasonable time to beat?
Darn dog, Snoopy where can he be?
Is that dog running along CB?

Chuck is back there at the end,
looks around and sees his friends.
Linus, Pigpen, Schroeder and crew
aughh, the mad race ensues.

Hmm...Snoopy soon
passed him by,
slobbering and smiling
as his alter ego can fly.

Ohh...Red Baron's on the attack
his little yellow bird right in back.
Upside down in chaotic tailspins
silly little Woodstock is poised for the win.

Sighing and wondering, "When will it end?"
His big head is on the next event.
All he needs is to catch his breath
but most of all to thank the Ref.

“Thank you sir, I’ve had enough,
the competition...heavy and awful tough.
Today I won last place, tomorrow,
I promise to pick up the pace."

InTellaches

Little bits
and pieces
of me are
all under
the ridges.
Defiled and
reshuffled by
the tip of your hat,
the flip of your lip,
the whip of your smack,
it was
the print
you left
behind.

Adrift in
the dust,
you arise
to surmise
with the wind
of your weight
running from head to toe,
the show with more glow,
so damn profound
as you sit down.
The ego
sits in
the side
corner
pocket.

I multiply
as you
criticize
every angle
of my linear
frame in time
moving forward
backward
crosscutting to
dissecting
latitude
with attitude.
It is the
circumference
of the mind.

While I sit,
pit I against
a nursery rhyme.
Like I’m a mime
waiting to shine dimes
going to primetime.
Powering up
the switch
with lights
that ignites
the charge
I make mine.
Unique prints
tapping the tips
of nimble fingers
I spit.

Heads of state,
and delegates,
raising flags
locked on
the victim
or the crime.
The science
knows that is
my fingerprint
as I bleed
my fears
on
every
line.

The Stone Refusal

Some of us are stoics and like stautues, some are gargoyles poisted high above the churches and buildings watching humans and their evil deeds, vigilant in protecting the home and their position.  The arguing souls of those under and on the Earth's surface.

The might of the protectors observe and contest the atrocities of denials with the grief of the lost things and forgotten times of yesterday.  The eyes of cupid blinded by the rage of the insidious demise of those who follow without heart in their souls.

The benevolent generously raise their hands in prayer and in shakes, while falling at times to lower their heads to shake off the evil deeds of others.  The cherished are cherubs in disguise hiding behind stolid formalities regarding the impressive amongst the unimpressed.

The giants of this century speak solemnly and quietly while entering the Church of God.  Their is no dissatisfaction amongst them until they leave the guarded gates and mingle with those on the outside. Serenity shatters against the window pains of stained spirits recessing from vitality.

Shadow phantoms with tepid speech and tight lips of insolent and impudent temperaments tempt fate, fortune, the future and the Father.  The finale raises the indignant to levels of impunity tucked in-between karma and a nonexistent preexistence unknown to those without the history of homogeneousness.

Histrionics replicates the melodramatic balderdash of the supersonic foreknowledge of a brilliant, radiant and phosphorescent throne.  The scintillate stars reach down to lift up their own. Growing descendants of mental vigor stand in sand and stone for some are shown through science, spirit and study that all roads led to home.

The Invisible Mind

The Invisible Mind

The wheel churns slowly with the grains of salt slowly turning the spoke stuck and struck by the littlest pieces of grain. The grinding wheel of industry considers it specks and flecks of humanity sacrificed by the revolver of contemporary technology.

The Darwinistic annihilation of creativity is rewinded into the necessacity for scraps of ideology in an ever seeing eye. The illuminated ruins of rituals and the raping of rights from individuality is the granules that pollutes my eyesight. My eyes do not hear the lies in my line of sight. The perpendicular alleyway is far behind the mind as the parallel universe lines up for fight.

In the slumbering cosmos the smite are stricken as the righteous rise against the machinary of eco and economic domination as they attempt to take flight.  The strength of the strong-willed and the blinding kindness gathers to ground the clueless from alleviating their plight. The intel sings deliverance as if there was a Jesus Christ bleeding in front of the weary and very contrite. The victims now are those who recognize the sight of a salted planet that can sustain a fraction of the cost of life.

The pollutants can not recycle back in time or fast enough to reconcile the loss in a tight atmosphere. The air breathing betwen the spokes are like a bicycle in flight aiming at a cleansing reconsilation of the bloodstained heart. The counter productive culture is shook from fright as the truth unravels to those pebbles of night where the massive tears of an oceanary drainage of instinctual visions clears by the dawn of daylight.

Proverbs 24 (New American Standard) Precepts and Warning

Do not be envious of evil men,

         Nor desire to be with them;
    For their minds devise violence,
         And their lips talk of trouble.
    By wisdom a house is built,
         And by understanding it is established;
    And by knowledge the rooms are filled
         With all precious and pleasant riches.
    A wise man is strong,
         And a man of knowledge increases power.
    For by wise guidance you will wage war,
         And in abundance of counselors there is victory.
    Wisdom is too exalted for a fool,
         He does not open his mouth in the gate.
    One who plans to do evil,
         Men will call a schemer.
    The devising of folly is sin,
         And the scoffer is an abomination to men.
    If you are slack in the day of distress,
         Your strength is limited.
    Deliver those who are being taken away to death,
         And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back.
    If you say, "See, we did not know this,"
         Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts?
         And does He not know it who keeps your soul?
         And will He not render to man according to his work?
    My son, eat honey, for it is good,
         Yes, the honey from the comb is sweet to your taste;
    Know that wisdom is thus for your soul;
         If you find it, then there will be a future,
         And your hope will not be cut off.
    Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous;
         Do not destroy his resting place;
    For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again,
         But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.
    Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
         And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
    Or the LORD will see it and be displeased,
         And turn His anger away from him.
    Do not fret because of evildoers
         Or be envious of the wicked;
    For there will be no future for the evil man;
         The lamp of the wicked will be put out.
    My son, fear the LORD and the king;
         Do not associate with those who are given to change,
    For their calamity will rise suddenly,
         And who knows the ruin that comes from both of them?
    These also are sayings of the wise
         To show partiality in judgment is not good.
    He who says to the wicked, "You are righteous,"
         Peoples will curse him, nations will abhor him;
    But to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight,
         And a good blessing will come upon them.
    He kisses the lips
         Who gives a right answer.
    Prepare your work outside
         And make it ready for yourself in the field;
         Afterwards, then, build your house.
    Do not be a witness against your neighbor without cause,
         And do not deceive with your lips.
    Do not say, "Thus I shall do to him as he has done to me;
         I will render to the man according to his work."
    I passed by the field of the sluggard
         And by the vineyard of the man lacking sense,
    And behold, it was completely overgrown with thistles;
         Its surface was covered with nettles,
         And its stone wall was broken down.
    When I saw, I reflected upon it;
         I looked, and received instruction.
              A little sleep, a little slumber,
         A little folding of the hands to rest,"
    Then your poverty will come as a robber
         And your want like an armed man.

If you write, they don't have to hear you. If you speak, they don't really read you. The truth was here long before my words or their perceptions ever existed. The truth of God is passed on with the truth of men.
